Upcoming CE Seminar – Divorce: Helping Your Clients Plan for the Future (2 Credits)

This CE classroom presentation will focus on how you can help your clients that are contemplating or going through a divorce. Learn the major income, gift and estate tax issues that may arise during this process. Explore the difference and impact on asset division for clients living in community property states versus common law states. Understand state laws may automatically void certain aspects of the estate plan when the divorce is final and the importance of the client reviewing and updating his or her estate plan and basic planning documents in a timely manner. Recognize the unintended tax and non-tax consequences where retirement assets and IRAs are not properly transferred and beneficiary designations are not timely updated.
